CHIANTI CLASSICO
The geographical area of Chianti Classico
The rocky hills of the Chianti Classico region are known for its gift of superior wines and olive oils.
The land, with deep dense woods of chestnut and oak slowly open up along sunny slopes giving way to the olive and wine. The harsh climate and stony soils of the Chianti Region limit the production of this high level product creating a rare oil - Il Fornacino Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The Fornacino Farm has developed a perfect blend of 40% Frantoio, 30% Correggiolo, and 25% Leccino olives with the minute addition of Moraiolo and Impollinatore. The result is a superb oil, which conveys all the finest characteristics of the fresh healthy fruit of the oil.

History of the Olive
Used to honor victory, wisdom and peace, the olive has long been known as a gift from the Gods. Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and the Arts, sprouted an olive tree at the Acropolis to "provide a flame for lighting up the night, soothing wounds; being a precious food, both rich in flavor and a source of energy".
Aristotle so believed in the virtues of the olive tree that he elevated cultivation of it to a science. Homer sung the praises of olive oil as "liquid gold" and Hippocrates called it the "great therapeutic".
Il Fornacino - Extra Virgin Olive Oil is created adhering to the strictest of historical cultivation and organic principles resulting in an oil unsurpassed in its harmonius and aromatic taste.
